Thinker in the Shadows

Thinker in the Shadows

My blog post today is a brand new picture taken yesterday!

As I’m always striving to improve myself I attend a photography class and yesterday’s lesson was all about lighting techniques using a live model.

I do have to say that I was very impressed with the end result!

If you’d like to see any more of my work please just click on the photo and you’ll be taken to my website.

Brighton Pier

Brighton Pier

We’re back to the English seaside today and back to Brighton and the pier.

This is another picture I took a while ago and has just surfaced from the archives. I love the way the pier seems to cut through the blues of the sea and the sky.

I hope you enjoy this and for more of my work please visit http://www.imjphotoart.co.uk

Jardin des Tuileries – Paris

Jardin des Tuileries - Paris

My photo today is an image I took on a recent trip to Paris.
It is the Jardin des Tuileries at the front of the Louvre. The gardens are beautiful and I decided I would give it an HDR treatment and was amazed at how it came out – especially the sky showing clearly the vapour trails from the planes.

Brighton Pavillion

Brighton Pavillion

Off to the seaside today and a HDR image of Brighton Pavillion. This is one from the back catalogue that was taken last year and has just made it onto our website.

Barcelona Wall Art

Barcelona Wall Art

This is a picture that was taken last year on a trip to Barcelona – and I have to admit it isn’t mine, it’s my sister’s!
We were exploring the city and came across this wall that was covered in these pictures and luckily she stopped and grabbed the picture – I just added the HDR touch to it 🙂

We have a whole new range on the website now, including this one so please take a look:

Desolation

Desolation

A second picture today which was taken at Blakeney in Norfolk.

I’ve done it in HDR as I happen to like the effect and it does warm the picture up and make it seem a lot less bitter than it actually was on this day!

As always, for more of my work please visit http://www.imjphotoart.co.uk

Canada Goose

Canada Goose

Today’s picture is simply called Canada Goose – simply because I couldn’t think of a witty title for it!

I’d love to say it was taken somewhere exotic but it was in fact taken at Orton Mere in Peterborough – which is very nice but not exactly exotic 🙂

I’m sure you must be tired of hearing it but don’t forget we are raising funds for Macmillan Cancer support and you can find full details at our website:

Through the Bullrushes

Through the Bullrushes

This is another brand new picture taken yesterday at Orton Mere in Peterborough.

I was looking around the lakes there and happened to notice some bullrushes that were still intact and thought they would make a nice foreground for this picture.

Flooded Path

Flooded Path

Today’s picture is another newbie, taken last week when I was down by the river in Peterborough. This is a different viewpoint from my previous post and shows just how flooded the path is – the boats in the picture are actually moored next to where the embankment should actually end!

I hope you like this HDR image. It has turned out just as I wanted it and I’m very pleased with the result.

Cathedral Square, Peterborough

Cathedral Square, Peterborough

This is another brand new picture that I took last week of Cathedral Square in Peterborough.

The picture shows The Guildhall on the square and just behind it, St John’s Church. The weather was just right to give some cloud cover to add a little character to the sky but sunny enough to give some good light.

I’ve given it a HDR treatment as I happen to like the effect – I know others don’t but I can’t help that :-).

I only post pictures when I am happy that I have achieved the correct contrast and the effect that suits my own personal taste just like every other one of my pictures that I have shared.

I’m sure there may be things that you would do differently but then that may be to your taste and not necessarily to mine.

I hope you enjoy this picture – for more of my work please visit http://www.imjphotoart.co.uk.
