Exhibition Picture 9 – A Splash of Oxford Circus

Exhibition Picture 9 - A Splash of Oxford Circus

Today’s post is the ninth picture from our range that is currently on display in Peterborough Museum.

The post today is called A Splash of Oxford Circus – a picture from our splash of colour range.

Although I’ve said it before about some of my pictures I do have to say that this one is again one of my favourite pictures.

However it’s not to everyone’s taste as we found out yesterday at a craft fair we were at! We had a visitor to our stall who was very vocal about how pictures like this ‘made her blood boil’ as it ‘isn’t what you see down the lens.’ She then announced that she was a photographer from National Geographic but personally I think she was just someone who needed to get out more 🙂

Oh well, you can’t please everyone – onwards and upwards!

If you’d like to see more of our work that drives ‘proper photographers’ mad just click on the picture and you’ll be taken to the page on our website where our exhibition pictures are. Grab a drink, take a look and have a seethe – just try to enjoy!

Exhibition Pictures

Exhibition Pictures

Those of you who follow my blog will probably know by now that we i.e. IMJ Photo-Art have an exhibition at Peterborough Museum running for the new few months.

I know it will be practically impossible for most of you to get there to see it so I thought that over the course of the next few weeks I would try and post one picture a day of a print that is in the exhibition!

This is the first of those pictures which was taken by my sister in Lille, France.

Having the picture in black and white really gives it atmosphere and somehow makes it a really interesting picture.

If you click on the picture you will be taken to the exhibition page on our website and, as you will see, we are raising money for Macmillan Cancer Support with 50% of our profits being donated to them.

Eiffel Tower Silhouette

Eiffel Tower Silhouette

We’re still in Paris for today’s blog post and it is a picture of the Eiffel Tower but given a silhoutte feel to it.

By making this black and white I feel it has really given the picture an interesting quality – well I like it anyway 🙂

For more of my work please click on the picture and you’ll be taken to the Paris gallery of my website.

London Calling – Revisited

London Calling - Revisited

A little while ago I did a post called London Calling. It was basically this picture but in full colour.

Since then, I received a request to do this picture as one of my Splash of Colour Range. I don’t know why I hadn’t thought if this before – all I can say in my defence is, I can’t think of everything!

Even if I do say so myself, I think the result is rather striking and it is now safely on sale sale on our website.

If you’d like to take a look at the rest of the Splash of Colour Range then simply click on the picture and you’ll be taken to the relevant page on our website.

Party Time

Party Time

Today’s post is a very classy black and white picture taken by my sister on a recent trip to Lille.

The black and white effect really gives the picture an added element and it will, of course, be on sale from the website very soon!

Simple Beauty

Simple Beauty

I realised today I hadn’t blogged for a while so thought I’d better get myself sorted!

So today’s post is called Simple Beauty and was my entry in the ‘end of course photo competition’ of a training course that I attend.

I wanted to go for something simple, black and white and with a lighting effect and I must say I do rather like the end result.

I was third! Oh well some you win……

Thinker in the Shadows

Thinker in the Shadows

My blog post today is a brand new picture taken yesterday!

As I’m always striving to improve myself I attend a photography class and yesterday’s lesson was all about lighting techniques using a live model.

I do have to say that I was very impressed with the end result!

If you’d like to see any more of my work please just click on the photo and you’ll be taken to my website.

The Cloisters., Peterborough Cathedral

The Cloisters., Peterborough Cathedral

Today’s first post is a recent picture I took of the walls of the old cloisters at Peterborough Cathedral.

The architecture of the Cathedral and it’s surrounding cloisters make for some truly spectacular images.

Moody Paris

Moody Paris

Today’s picture is one from the back catalogue that I have just come across.

This was taken on a trip to Paris just over a year ago – and not taken by me! It was taken by Marc, another of the IMJ Photo-Art gang but he’s let me use it as I dabbled with it and turned it into black and white.

I hope you like it and be prepared, there are lots more Paris pictures to come that I have unearthed!

Spooky Cathedral

Spooky Cathedral

This is a picture that I took a couple of days ago of the Cathedral in Peterborough.
As the light was really bright that day and I didn’t have my filters with me I had to hope for the best. Unfortunately it came out really washed out and the sky was just grey, bright nothing.
So I did a bit of tinkering in photoshop, gave it a HDR effect and finally I thought ‘I wonder what it would look like in Black and White?’
I have to say – I wasn’t disappointed.

I hope you enjoy this and for more of my work please visit my website where I am raising money for Macmillan Cancer Support.
