Thinker in the Shadows

Thinker in the Shadows

My blog post today is a brand new picture taken yesterday!

As I’m always striving to improve myself I attend a photography class and yesterday’s lesson was all about lighting techniques using a live model.

I do have to say that I was very impressed with the end result!

If you’d like to see any more of my work please just click on the photo and you’ll be taken to my website.

The Bodleian Library, Oxford

The Bodleian Library, Oxford

Today’s post is a picture of the Bodleian Library in Oxford.

This was taken a couple of years ago but I’ve been delving into my archives recently and giving some of my older pictures a bit of a makeover.

Oxford is not only a very historic city, it is also a very picturesque one with lots of amazing architecture and the HDR process has really bought this out.

If you’d like to see more of my work please click on the picture and you’ll also find out how you can help us raise money for Macmillan Cancer Support

Across The Bay

Across The Bay

My blog post today is called Across the Bay as that is exactly what it is! This is another one that I’ve dug out of the archives and it is a view from Mermaid Quay across Cardiff Bay in Wales.

Cardiff is one of my favourite places to spend time and I always look forward to going there.

This picture was taken a couple of years ago as the view is pre-Dr Who Experience which you would now see on the left of the picture.

This May Bank Holiday I’m doing a sponsored walk around the perimeter of the bay which equates to approx 13km. I’m doing it in aid of Macmillan Cancer Support and if any of you would like to help me raise money you can click on the picture which will direct you to my JustGiving Page

The Cloisters., Peterborough Cathedral

The Cloisters., Peterborough Cathedral

Today’s first post is a recent picture I took of the walls of the old cloisters at Peterborough Cathedral.

The architecture of the Cathedral and it’s surrounding cloisters make for some truly spectacular images.

View From The Seine

View From The Seine

A second blog post today for you.

This one is a view of Paris from a river boat trip on the Seine.

Does it sound like I’m being a little vague? That’s because I am as I have forgotten what the view is actually of!

If any of you can remind me then I’d be very grateful 🙂

Cardiff Castle

Cardiff Castle

Today’s tour of the world takes us back to Cardiff in Wales.
This is a picture of Cardiff Castle taken last year but again only recently surfacing from my archives.

With HDR photography, I always think how amazing the architecture looks – it really gives it a totally different look and feel.

Moulin Rouge

Moulin Rouge

My picture today sort of speaks for itself.

It’s the Moulin Rouge from Paris – I know you’d never have guessed it!

I had to crop this quite creatively to take out the cars that were passing and of course other tourists but it’s come out rather well!

It’s presented here in HDR and I hope you enjoy it

Bridge of Sighs, Oxford

Bridge of Sighs, Oxford

We’re back in the UK today and Oxford. This is Hertford Bridge in Oxford aka The Bridge of Sighs.

This again is presented in a HDR style and is another from the archives that I have only recently worked on.

For any of you that haven’t been to Oxford I would heartily recommend a visit as it really is very picturesque.

The Musée du Louvre

The Musée du Louvre

Today’s post is a picture of The Louvre in Paris or should I say The Musée du Louvre.

This is another picture that was taken a little while ago but has only just caught my attention and been given a HDR treatment. I must have taken my eye off of the ball with these pictures from our Paris trip as I really don’t know why I haven’t done anything with them before.

Now this is another picture that isn’t in fact mine, it is by Marc, another one of the IMJ Photo-Art gang but it is very worthy of being on the blog as I think it is stunning. Although this image and my previous couple of posts aren’t on our website yet, they will be very soon!

We are also in the process of organising our first exhibition that will take place in Peterborough. Hopefully this will lead to big things so wish us luck!

If any of you do read the info that goes along with my picture posts I would just like to apologise for my lack of comments on posts and the amount of likes I send out. Unfortunately, my intention with this blog was to be a part of the ‘blog community’ but just as I began the blog alot of things happened, I became involved in raising money for Macmillan Cancer Support and also have just started a new job so my time has suddenly disappeared. I do try to look at all of your blogs when I can and can honestly say I am really impressed with everyone’s work that they publish and really appreciate all of the likes that you bestow on my/our work too.

Thanks, Ian

Notre Dame by Night

Notre Dame by Night

Today’s picture is another form our brand new Paris range – and an exclusive as not even on the website yet!

This is a night shot of Notre Dame Cathedral that has been given a HDR makeover. I think that it makes the image really striking and I was very pleased with the result.
